I'm getting ready to wax this beast for the first time and was wondering if any of you folks have waxed your Solitude yet? If you have, what product did you use and are you happy with it?

I have not waxed the Solitude yet, but then again, I've not owned it that long.

We used Meguires http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+PURE+16 on our previous TT and it worked great. I think we'll try it out on the Solitude, unless someone from the factory posts that there's something better for it.

I waxed the cap with Meguilars cleaner/Polish. I'll start doing the whole trailer this fall. This thing is huge!!!
Ct..

How long did you guys have your rig before you waxed it? Is the Solitude waxed when it leaves the factory? We take delivery of our new 369RL and was just wondering how soon I need to wax it. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum marmidor!

The factory reccommends that the camper be waxed twice a year. We bought our 369RL in April so it's almost 6 months old. That's the reason I'm getting ready to wax ours.

marmidor,
Our Solitude looks and acts as if it's been waxed. Could be that's what happened at our dealership in the "prep after the sale" stuff.

I thought everyday was Saturday. LOL. Now if my wife would just quit we'd be posting in the full time section. ;D

Picked ours up April 30th and washed it about 6 times with soft brush and me guitars
Gold class soap and drip dry before a high speed meguiars cleaner wax
And high speed buff/polish around oct 20th full day wax two guys and super shiny
Smooth awesome..... big fan. Recommend this to everyone

We just waxed ours. It took about 7 hours. Man this thing is huge.

Every year when I go to Myrtle Beach I schedule a full wash/wax/roof treatment. Mobile service comes to the campground. I have done this with all my RV's. So worth it for $280. Saves me a lot of time and effort.

Who are you getting to do that in Myrtle Beach? I go to Myrtle Beach Travel Park every year, I would get this done.

I will be spending Easter at Ocean Lakes Campground also. Maybe I will see you there. I am coming in on the 15h and leaving after Easter. I will be in the 3000 section next to another Solitude owner.

I found a really good product for those who like to wax their rigs themselves. It's called WashWaxAll. Made by Aero Cosmetics. Originally designed for aircraft and approved by Boeing for use on their aircraft. It even meets the Boeing cleaning spec and as a 27 year Boeing employee, that says something in my book. You start with a good clean surface and apply by spray bottle (on the surface or to a soft rag) and you wipe it around then wipe it right off with a clean soft rag. No rubbing. Costs about $30/ gallon. I waxed my rig, truck, wifes car, scooter, counter tops and any other surface I could find that takes wax. Used about a quart. I found it lasts at least 4 months if you don't wash it too much. Best part is..........it's easy to apply and remove.

Does it leave white residue? Do you put it on the graphics?

No white residue like other liquid or paste waxes and yes, it's fine on the graphics. The main things are to start with a surface that's clean and in good condition and work in small areas since you need to wipe it off BEFORE it dries.
