We were not planning on traveling this winter because of Covid, but by mId-January we couldn't take it anymore and left Michigan for warmer weather and a chance to be outside. Polar vortex aside, (hit us hard in Texas), it was great to be camping again and exploring our great nation! We visited 9 states and 3 of them were new to us, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas. We stayed mainly on spacious, federally owned campsites or boondocked in the wild. Also did some beach camping. We found most people took social distancing seriously and couldn't wait to get vaccinated. A few did not believe Covid was a serious threat and tried to get in our face, but we backed them right up. Overall, we are so glad we left for the winter and can assure you traveling can be done safely in these times if you take the same precautions you do at home. BTW we did this on the fly with hardly any reservations. We dried camped 75% of the time and avoided RV resorts like the plague. Safe travels!
