Weight of flex armor roof

Hello friends. I’m considering having a flex armor roof installed on my Solitude. I understand that it will weigh a bit more than 150 lbs. Should I be concerned about the extra stress that might put on my frame, what with all the frame flex issues going around?

Considering the 150 lbs. will be spread out over the whole roof, I doubt that it would be an issue. If that small of additional weight were a problem, you'd best watch your diet and the amount of water you carry. JMO of course.

Agree with Hoopy Frood. The weight is spread out over the whole length. Had our 310 done last year and love it. Love the reduced stress of leaks and punctures on one of the most important parts for the health of the camper. Would recommend getting it done to anyone who plans to keep their camper for an extended period of time.

Look at it this way, solar panels would exhibit higher concentrated loading than a uniformly distributed dead load of the armor...

We had the armorflex roof put on a 30ft 5er and have not had any issues with towing it. Some friends said that it would make the rig top-heavy but, depending on the rig, you are only adding about 1% of weight. Still tows great, no additional sway on cornering or anything. I would, and have, recommended the armorflex if needing a roof.

This is my 2nd 5th wheel to have the FlexArmor roof. Absolutely satisfied so far. I have never heard of anyone with it have any complaints.
