We decided to retire the 2003 F350 before it starts nickle and diming us as we take longer and longer road trips. It was pretty darned good to us and someone will get a well cared for truck .
Picking up the new one tomorrow morning...doing a huge happy dance

Here's the new baby!!

Wow - What a nice looking ride! We did the opposite - GM to Ford, but they're all good trucks. Any idea what the payload is in the new one?

Jim

Good for you guys! Congratulations. That's going to be a sweet looking rig when all hooked up and going down the road. You will be itching for camping season to start.

Hi Jim, the payload is 4188. It was really a tough choice between the 2, both sound machines . What really won it is we felt the interior in the GMC is way nicer than the Ford.
And I really like the turning radius in the GMC, much tighter.
The Fords interior hasn't changed much in the years between 2003 and now, we felt like we were getting out of our old truck and darn near right back in it.

Congratulations, Marcy and Gary. I hope you have a million miles of Great RVing.

Poppy, we've been itching since we parked it for the winter, this just made the itch 10 times worse!

Congtrats Marcy and Gary!
Hope we get to see the new ride at the rally in August!! You guys are attending again, aren't you?
By the way--we have always had GMC/ Chevrolet and love them!!

Congrats! Don't make me get the itch for a new truck yet. We're trying to get a few more years out of our '02 F350. New trucks are nice, but expensive. I gotta get over buying the new 5th wheel first.

I ran over to Atlanta and back today pulling a utility trailer--to bring back a bunch of furniture. My 2003 F250 with the 80 hp D-P econo tune was just purring at 75 mph. If my tires weren't so worn, I could easily find my self running in the 80's on the I-285 autobahn around Atlanta.

At 120,000 miles, the engine is just broken in. I cannot see spending $40K difference for a new F350 as I've got many more miles left. And with leather captain's chairs and the 2 tone paint, it still looks great (if you don't look too close.)

the wife we bought the GMC 2014 3500HD just below the Denali package. We have the 355th and the 20K FW hitch from pull rite and its a dream to drive. We had to have the seats with ac and heat for those long hauls.

Hi Sandi! Of course we're going to the rally. Wish we could be at Anchor down but that's the beginning of our trip west. We'll be home the early Aug for a family wedding then shoot over to the rally.

We were relly in the mindset that we'd get a few more years out of our 2003 but living in the north salt takes it's toll and we decided we'd trade it before we couldn't get a good deal for it.
The rust is starting to pop out pretty good on the bottom of the doors and the under side. The timing was good with all the incentives right now (plus employee discount offered to family members)
we paid real close to the same for it than step down models of either an F250 or the Chevy 2500 that we drove and were also considering.

Cant wait for morning to get here!!

Great looking truck. How long are you going to be able to wait before you hook up and head to warmer climate? We're anxious to head to Florida next week.

You will like that truck, nothing beats heated, and cooled seats. I have never owned any other brand of truck(all GM for over 25 years) I am a happy GM owner.

I have a 2012 3500 HD Denali DRW and absolutely love it. Have 60,000 on it an no problems so far. Good luck on the new truck I am sure it will serve you well mine has.

It's home and we love it! Gary will have to pry my hands off the steering wheel lol
Kay, we're heading to FL the 2nd of Feb for not long enough, 3 weeks. Sans the trailer, staying with friends and family. It'll be a great trip in the new ride and a nice way to break it in before towing with it.

Marcy & Gary--love your new ride as well ! If we ever park next to you, will have to try my key and see if it fits......do a switcheroo.......maybe you won't even notice ! 3500 seems to preparing for the next larger GDRV since your 3500 could handle two 303s.

Dan

LOL Dan, the 2500 put us close enough to the edge with little wiggle room for "upgrading " if the urge ever hit. (We are so comfortable in the 303 it's not likely any time soon) But after lots of looking, reading and talking we decided
we want the option to be there if we ever did want to go just a tad larger and not have to upgrade the truck too at the same time. And Garys mumbled the word Momentum a couple times already!
