What did you do to your Grand Design today?

Picking it up after a month or so at the dealer. New roof, black tank valve, new roller shade, bedroom windows adjusted, hydro leak fixed, spring keepers replaced(not sure on that deal), and a couple wet bolts greased that wouldn’t take grease from my grease gun.

Once home I’ll have to add a bunch of dicor. Whatever dicor they have it levels with holes. Had them fix a number spots, but I’ll hit them all myself again and then order some Eternabond anyway.

Added the Maxxair fan to the bathroom and shelves to the wardrobes in the bedroom. Next is JT Strong Arms, hopefully tomorrow.

Not today, but had to go back out to our rig (in storage) to "rescue" the loaf of bread I left in it from our last trip.

EDIT: I forgot to mention we had our Thomas Payne recliners recovered. I'll post photos tomorrow of it done.

This was the "good" side. The other side was almost all peeled off:

moved our fifth wheel across the street a week ago to work on cover for it.
another couple weeks, should have pictures.

Winterized the plumbing since overnight were getting into the 30s. Some clean up left, check for mouse entry points, put out my mouse trap in the shed next to the rig, bounce sheets (even though I know they don't work totally), pull the TPMS sensors and other batteries, and empty some stuff from the pass thru.

I replaced the fuse doohicky in front by the trailer tongue because I have no 12v in the camper, just at the jack. All fixed. I winterized it too so shes all put to bed.

we had the gray tank valve replaced, recall work on the wiring under the trailer, replace back lights..:) Ready for our next trip the California Beach time....<3

We played camp driveway last night. The new water heater works great! Water pump working properly (always a plus)
The re proposed curtains aren't going to work.. Would need 2 more panels and they're an old pattern.

The best is Zeus loves the trailer not afraid of the open steps and can't wait to get in, he blocks the door so a lesson in patience is coming. The oval track around the island is great fun for the zoomies.. he's going to make a fun camping companion!

Couple daze ago: I replaced that Shurflo 4008-101-A65 pump in our RV.. I was about half way thru the winterizing and the pump decided to stop pumping. It ran , but pumped very little liquid. I took the pump out out, opened it up, nothing obvious wrong. Filter screen was clean

New pump installed and I finished the winterizing of the system.

I put my Starlink router and power brick on a piece of plywood where I can put in or take out of the front compartment. All I have to do is run the ethernet cable to Starlink and plug the power in.

weeellll, traveling to Phoenix for a funeral, my husband looked in the rear view mirror and said "the trailer isn't sitting level". So we pulled over on the side of the highway, and he found a broken leaf spring.

Happily, we were near Palm Springs (big city) and it was a weekday, so there were many RV repair facilities there. Took about 5 phone calls to find one that said, "yes, bring it on in, we can help you".

2 hour delay, but we got a new leaf spring and made it to our night's lodging before dark.

Replaced the front gray tank handle that disappeared last trip. Also removed the furnace to troubleshoot a no heat issue. Found a wire had come loose from the gas valve.

Now there's a broken spring story I like to hear. Not a two three day ordeal with broken hangers and closed shops.

Removed, rotated 180 degrees and replaced about half the light switches in my rig, so now they all are consistent. One panel had two switches side by side, with off in different directions. Hard to believe an installer could be so careless.

It’s been a busy week…
- cleaned and inspected roof
- added two (of 4) 250w solar panels & ran new wiring from roof to pass thru inside wall next to gray tank vent
- added solar controller, breakers, etc for new panels
- removed padded headboard and replaced with paneling
- added remote control dimmer to LED strip over bed and wired to constant 12v power rather than bedroom switch.
- replaced bathroom sink and faucet with surface mount ceramic sink and tall single handle faucet.

Nothing too major. Took a one night solo trip…because it’s more fun to mix some camping in with stuff.

Finished my Starlink setup running a LAN cable up into the bedroom. This is where my son will connect the PS5 for gaming now and then. Ran it up along the washer plumbing from the basement and behind the drawers in the dresser. Then, out the back side of the dresser so it’s not easily visible.

Also found a small curtain hold back in my garage at home. Took the decorative end off and installed it in my wet bay to hang my Starlink cable.

Inspected my new roof. Third trip with it and had 40mph gusts on the drive so figured if it can handle that I’m good. Looked good overall. Secure at least. Lots of clumpy glue on the underside up front. Only one bubble about midway back a little smaller than my fist. Still want a spray on at some point. While up there I through a piece of Eternabond across my longest solar wires. Can’t be good to have them flapping in the wind.

It’s a dark skies park so the best thing was the stars last night and few meteors streaking across the sky. Really appreciate that other campers kept the lights off.

I inspected the roof yesterday. All of it looks great. I had Roof Armor do their thing in June.
Here is the view from up on top. We are hosting at Fort Stevens Historic Site ( Oregon State Park )
It's a panoramic photo
