What do you use to cover, or seal off, the bedroom floor register?

I've been searching online for a vent cover for the floor register in the bedroom. 99.9% of what I've found are magnetic covers, which in a stix-n-brix is fine since they usually are metal registers. In the coach, they are plastic registers with metal screws; not enough surface area for the magnets to hold.

It needs to be something that won't convey heat to the feet when it's stepped on. I thought about using Glad Press and Seal but in but sure that it would hold up for the winter.

How about getting a dampered vent?

We had a floor register in our Reflection, I removed it and replaced it with a metal version from a big box hardware store, then I bought a small sheet of magnet and cut it to fit the register, worked out well. Benefit of this over the damper version is it keeps dirt out.

We use carpet stair tread.

We use a small cotton bathroom throw rug.
