One of the things that came up in the survey was that our "Newbie" population wanted some help and instruction on topics. I am willing to put some together, and to find some online to host here too. Let me know what you'd like as part of this thread. Please don't reply with solutions at this time, let's work on putting that together as part of this forum. So here's what I'm looking for:

I'd like to know how to winterize and de-winterize my camper.

Not:

I don't know how to do anything, and my dealer was worthless.

Be specific.

We can find good resources on line, and start building a library.
Thanks
Chris

Great idea. Maybe;

How to empty and maintain black tank
What items are needed for any rv
Pre departure checklist

Edit: I’m not sure if this is what you were looking for. I see you said please do not respond..., wasn’t sure what you meant.

maybe some one could post a blog about pulling a trailer. I have had many folks admire my wife when she pulls my rig into the camp site. People have asked me how to backup, and what I do to make right hand turns into narrow streets. I know drivers ed does not go the limit on pulling trailers, long or short.

Pro/cons of running refrigerator while towing
TPMS and the effects of under inflated tires
Electrically, what is run on 12v and what is run on 120v
30 amp/50 amp primer
What EMS does
Hardwired vs portable EMS
Can you slide if not level
Understanding weight, GCWR, GVWR, water weight, gas weight, pin/hitch weight
List of best wash wax products
How to reset and trouble shoot the MyRv system.
Primer on internet connection while traveling
Tips on cooking with a convection oven
List of discount programs for RVer's ie Good Sams, Escapees, Passport America, Flying J
What makes GD different (better)?
Water Heater Anode Replacement, why, how
Black tank management
How to live in an RV during the winter

Wow, look at the list of stuff I have learned over the last 7 years of full timing.

How about a list of roads that are in such poor condition that they should be avoided if at all possible.
I will start the list with: I-10 between I-12 in Louisiana and the Texas state line. It is rougher than a corn cob.

New buyer's guide

What are some things to have written into the buyer's agreement? Priority service (what does that mean) for 90 days shakedown? Problem resolution over first 72 hours?

Just placed my deposit down today on my first ever camper. I’d really like to see driving and maneuvering tips. Thanks in advance!

We have had our 2800bh for 3 weeks and are looking to do dry camping in between park stops. We want to know how to run a fan during the night... what should we do?

What we have our battery operated fans. Not only can you use them in the trailer but you can take them outside with you too.

I'll add to what Gary posted, we use O2cool fans. they run on battery or have a plug adapter.
Also another option is a fantastic fan placed in the vents, they run off your 12v system pretty efficiently

How do you inspect and maintain your RV roof.

Top RV memberships and why - i.e. how do you use them - almost impossible to pull how folks utilize their RVs (weekend, extended stay, long trips, full time) from the individual threads or signatures in responses. Also, 2 or 3 year old post with context may now be OBE given the surge in sales, numbers on the road, and changes to individual memberships.

Maybe a list of good starter equip.

Good water pressure regulators, EMS, slinky’s, chocks etc.

Bill

Agreed. Very difficult to tell what is really necessary and which are good options (there are likely more than one) when each YT video RVer has their own Amazon shop.

Gosh - so much to cover, so much to learn......

Rather than scrub through endless YouTube recommendations and searching "best xyz device" which also results in folks recommending products they get a commission from try this......

If searching for a water regulator us the this search in a google search box.... "mygrandrv.com" "water regulator" https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=%22mygrandrv.com%22+%22water+regulator%22&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8"]Here is an example..[/URL]

You'll get a list of threads and posts here on this site,

Searching for hoses? Substitute "hose" instead of "water regulator".

At least you'll be getting info from folks here who actually use the stuff rather than rate it.

What should I expect to pay for certain new units. When is the best time to buy? How to negotiate with dealers.
