I'm going to be sanitizing my fresh water system.

My question is, what do I do with all the water in my grey water tank after sanitizing the system?
The camper is currently parked at home. The manual says to "drain tank and flush with fresh water".

Thanks for the advice!

Are you sanitizing the grey water tank? If so,, why?

No. I am not sanitizing the grey water tank. I'm sanitizing the water system. So I'll be opening all the faucets. Therefore, the solution, and subsequent flush, will drain into my grey water tank.

OK, In that case you will need to go to a dump station. If it was a new RV, you could just dump it on the ground. I only sanitized my first very used TT over 30 years ago. It took months to get rid of the bleach smell. My subsequent RVs have been new. I have not sanitized any of them. I just use good city water which has already been treated.

Take it to a dump station and do what the manual says.

If you have a septic system at home you can dump into it. The concentration of bleach will not harm it. If you have a public sanitary sewer, you can ask the utilities authority if you are permitted to discharge direct. Outside of this, just find your nearest dump station. Parks, truck stops, MUAs, and private campgrounds usually have dump-for-fee.

Oy! That's what I was afraid of. What a PIA!
Thank you so much. I appreciate your time and input.

Am I the only one who has no problem letting gray water go on the ground in my yard?

Thank you! This is helpful. Logistically it will be challenging, but doable.

Updating my original post . . .

Thank you again to those that have replied to my post. I appreciate your time and insight.

I was wondering what people think of the following:

I never use the fresh (potable) water tank. So I'm thinking of just sending the chlorine solution through the city water intake.
Then leaving the chlorine solution in the lines to sanitize.
Then flushing the lines with fresh water; again through the city water intake.
Then, adding additional water to further dilute what is now in my grey water tank.
Then, letting all of this sit in my grey water tank for maybe a day and then during our drive to the CG.
Then, dumping at the CG.

Does anyone see any potential problems with this?
I know bleach can harm plastic and rubber gaskets, so I want to be cautious.

As always, thank you..

I don't believe I would have any trouble letting gray water go in your yard either. :)

I appreciate the suggestions of just dumping the water in my yard. It's really not an option for me. I have a lot of wildlife accessing my yard, my home uses a well and I have a vegetable garden.

I se no problem doing that. I use swimming pool test strips to tell when there is or is not chlorine in my lines. Happy camping!

X2.
My grey tank often smells worse than the black.
