The top corner of one of my slide outs has a small short section of rubber seal torn. I need to glue it together again but cannot find a suitable glue that bonds to rubber. I've tried contact cement and glue used to patch a rubber inner-tubes but it does not stick very long. What type of glue is used by the factory??

Gorilla snot.
AKA yellow weather stripping glue. I think it’s a 3m product. Used it exclusively during my mechanic days. Once dry, it’s a bear to get off. Sticks like crazy.

Not working on the seal in the track. This seal is about 2 inches wide, flat rubber seal that is glued together at each 90 degree corner at the top. It's a wipe seal not a bulb seal.

I wonder if they changed how they install the wiper since '14, ours was never glued together . The corners overlap but no glue.

Yes, the corners of the wipers are glued. It's EPDM rubber and you need the 3M weatherstripping glue for EPDM (they have a few types). It will not adhere properly without the surfaces being very clean and you'll need to pinch the glued overlap together for a bit.

I watched an SRT tech re-glue the seals at one corner of one of our front schwintek slides after repairing a mechanism and they used an industrial strength alphacyanoacrilate (AKA Crazy) glue. I can verify it works as I had to separate one of the seams once and it actually tore the rubber rather than the joint.

I agree with what Rob said. 3M rubber glue.

A few cautions:
> it bonds instantly; so no chance to realign once you join the pieces;
> wear gloves, the stuff is sticky

I had a pretty sizable tear in the corner of one of my wipers (the top wiper. GD had stapled them in some cases and glued them in others (go figure!). I used an old tire tube to glue on a "patch' over the corner as I wasn't able to stretch the wiper seal any further. It is holding up quite well.

Had the same issue several years ago. Grand Design said Super Glue as stated above. Six Seasons down the road and still holding....

I can verify that Krazy Glue found on Amazon is the best of all adhesives to use on the rubber slide seals!! Tried 3 different types of glue and nothing held. Krazy Glue (a brand of super glue ?) is easy to work with as it sets up quickly. Careful of your skin adhering to the rubber!! I cannot pull the glued section apart without tearing the rubber!!
