Anyone?? Been camping in the DelMarVa region for 8 years. Our annual go to's, in no particular ranking order:

BethPage - Urbanna, VA
Greys Point - Topping, VA
Yogi Jellystone - Luray, VA
Friendship Village - Bedford, PA
Harpers Ferry KOA - Harpers Ferry, WV
Castaways - Berlin/Ocean City, MD
Frontier Town - Berlin/Ocean City, MD
Shenandoah Crossings - Gordonsville, VA

We are planning a trip to Anchor Down, as it looks exquisite. Until then, anyone know of something similar within DelMarVa, PA, or WV?? Specifially, site size, quailty and amenities (fireplace).

Thanks All!

Have been to 4 of the 8 on your list above.
Have also seen the photos of Anchor Down.
I am not aware of anything within 250 miles of me that compares, at least at the daily rates
that Anchor Down shows. I was glad to become aware of Anchor Down, with it being so close
to the Smoky Mtns. We get down there at least once a year.

I generally don't stay at KOA's or Yogi's unless we have some of the grandkids with us.

I've only been to 2 (BethPage, Yogi) out of the 8 listed. Thanks for sharing, I'm always looking for a recommended spot.

Massey's Landing in Rehoboth, DE opened a couple of years ago. It is "similar" to Castaways in Ocean City.

Another favorite of ours is Country Acres, near Lancaster, PA. Not as many activities for kids though.

Dandridge TN. One of the absolutely nicest resorts we have EVER stayed in. Hands down, 5 stars.

We have not stayed at Anchor Down, however we have driven through and looked at it closely. It is located on the north side of Douglas Lake between Kodak/Sevierville, Tennessee and Dandridge. The view from the resort is looking south across the lake at the Smokies. The facilities are great and modern since the resort is maybe 3 years old. There is an incredible number of activities and places to see in this area--including Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

If the price is too high, the area has many, many great RV parks and state/federal park facilities. The Tennessee side of the Smokies have much better RV and camping facilities than the south side (NC) around Cherokee and Bryson City.
