My wife sent this to me, she found it in the 311 Facebook group.

I guess he should have added airbags, Timbrens, sumo springs and whatever else people add that they think raises their vehicle capacity. 1616622221461.jpg

Hopefully nobody on this or the other forum. I wonder if the salesman told him he could tow it?

Could be more to this story we don’t know. Could have hit a big dip in the road at speed, but very well could be overloaded with a minimum weight rated truck. Either way not good.

Hard to tell from the picture but kind of looks like they hit a rough patch of road and the trailer came unhitched and landed on the bed. That generation of f150 had very thin sheet metal so it didn’t take much to crush like that. That generation of f150 also had some thin wall frames if the right option group wasn’t selected and even though they are fully boxed, were prone to bending just like the picture with enough abuse.

Much more to the story. The whole rig was on its side across the interstate. This picture was taken after it was righted again. The truck and hitch held up really well considering what it went through.

That's not pretty! If the shebang went over, I hope everyone involved is ok. Did the take a curved ramp entrance onto the highway too fast? We used to live near a ramp that would catch recreational towers off-guard with weekly tip-overs and skidding across the roadway into the median during the camping season. Would take semis too.

Yikes....I hope they were ok. I wonder what the other side looks like.

Not sure what happened. There are skid marks on the road that would seem to indicate the truck was nearly sideways before tipping, and the way the whole thing laid over you’d the trailer was too. There were no injuries reported

exactly why it's best to know the "Paul Harvey" before pointing fingers. If you don't know what the Paul Harvey is, you are still wet behind the ears.

Whatever the circumstances, I know it's a 311 being towed by an F150....even if it had the HDPP, that's a very questionable combo.

Not that it matters but is it positive it is a 311?

Doesn’t the front end of a 303 look identical?

Well it was from the 311 Facebook group, but, sure you could be correct. A 303 would be fine for an F150 w/ HDPP. Either way, whatever it was, terrible day for someone and hopefully they are ok.

Since we are playing guess that model of Grand Design, here is my guess. The trailer in the first image posted from Face Book has a large window so my guess is that it is a 150 series. If you google the 311 and the 303 they both have the small window. These 150 series trailers have the larger window 268RD, 280RS, 295RL

I think you're right. You know what they say when you assume...

Yes I forgot to look at the 150 series. Definitely not a 311. Didn’t think it was

I've got a 150 series, that was my first guess but not sure about the slam latch on the basement door. Mine has little thumb latches but the photo clearly shows a slam latch. But they may have put slam latches on the 150's after '18, not sure about that. Appears the 31MB has a large curbside master window and back window.
