Is there a drain for the Furrion gas on demand tankless hot water heater for winterizing? I can seem to locate a plug drain.

How about an anode rod. Do those exist on these water heaters?

Have a 2024 303 Rv. There is a brass drain plug. It is in front and about 1/4 inch in diameter on ours

Thank you. I broke out the manual and looked for the brass drain plug. Thank you. Looks like I have a filter to clean also. I hope removing that white panel on the bottom will be easy. It looks like it's just press fit.

If you can get to the back of your water heater, you will see that the drain line comes directly from the water mixing chamber that is mounted to the back of the unit. When you pull both the drain plug and filter, most (but not all) of the water will drain from the water heater. Be sure that you get some antifreeze in that tube before you put the drain plug back in. Otherwise, water sitting in the bottom of that mixing chamber will get pushed out when you add antifreeze, and will end up sitting in that drain tube - not necessarily mixed with the antifreeze.

No anode rod since there is no water tank.

So I have watched many examples on wintering the Furrion tankless water heater. My main concern is how do I know that I have antifreeze in the mixing bowl. What extra step can I perform to make sure the mixing bowl has antifreeze? Is it as simple as when the antifreeze comes out the drain on the Furrion then I can be assured that there is also pink in the bowl and not just in the lines?

Depending on the Nautilus system you have, you need to be sure that you are not bypassing the water heater. If you have the P1, the red valve is the water heater bypass.

If you plan to blow it out with air, pull the drain plug and filter and make sure that air/water comes out of that drain tube. When you pump antifreeze into the system, leave the plug out until you get antifreeze out of that tube. It should happen fairly quickly so be ready. Put the plug back in and pump antifreeze through the rest of the system. Some say to take the plug and filter back out after you finish pumping antifreeze through the rest of the system, some say to leave them in.

It is my belief that once you know the heater has anti freeze out the drain as described and you run the anti freeze through you faucets, hot and cold sides that the mixing bowl would be taken care of. At least I have not experienced any problems doing it this way.

I follow these steps and have had no issues----blow out the entire system with all valves set to winterize on the nautilus but with the red water heater bypass lever at a 45* angle. Then I pump antifreeze through the system till it runs out each faucet, shower, kitchen, bathroom, and toilet. Then I remove both drains and vents from the water heater and run the pump with antifreeze till it runs out of both of those. I believe that ensures the water heater is totally covered and protected.

Thank you. I don’t have a red valve on my nautilus. It has only 3 valves. I blew out the lines as described in t city mode and then followed up with the winterizing steps in winterize mode. I thought I could hear the wh fill up with antifreeze so my suspicion is that the winterize mode for the nautilus 3 valve doesn’t bypass the wh. Maybe someone can confirm this.

the red bypass is likely behind your nautilus panel - I have the 3 valve P4 panel too and my red bypass in behind the nautilus panel - never used it but it is there
