Oh it’s that time of year again… while winterizing the plumbing in bypass mode my water leak sensor went off. Sure enough it’s PB tubing on a Pex fitting leaking RV antifreeze.

Just ordered a bunch of Pex to PB couplers and will repair this one likely in the spring.

God I wish they would sort out this practice one day lol.

No need for changing out the fittings. Get some small stainless steel worm drive hose clamps. Cut off the existing clamp with a Dremel tool and put the hose clamps on the soft tubing and tighten it up. It has worked every time for me.

Get ABA clamps. Way better than the screw clamps.

What I have done is got rid of all the plastic fittings and went with brass. I think the combination of all that plastic is part of the reason they leak. Brass certainly does not distort as bad as the plastic.

Yeah, it's a pain to do and can cost a few $$. One of the side benefits of doing this is you can route the lines so they take a lot less space. Space that you can hide your LifePo4 batteries ;)
