Good morning my fellow GD owners, Just wondering what you all are using to treat the wooden shower seat? I am getting ready to put the unit away for the winter and figure this is the best time to do some preventive maintenance .

@Usmc616 I believe the wood is teak. To be honest, we haven't treated ours yet since the color hasn't turned gray which teak will do when exposed to the sun. Years ago on boats with teak, we used to use a marine teak oil - sometimes twice a year. Teak would turn gray but the teak oil would instantly restore it back into it's original color. If the color is still bright teak and water beads up on it, I wouldn't put anything on it. When I do it will be a light coating of teak oil.

Thank you.

On our boat, exposed year round, teak handles and hatch covers gradually become gray, then near black. Cleaning with OxyClean, then teak oil, works well.
